The group attended a meeting in the Shadow Cabinet Room in the Palace of Westminster to discuss local issues, before being given a tour of the building.
Brooks said, "I was delighted to host an event for parish councillors in the room where the Shadow Cabinet meets, although I hope that it's one room in the Palace of Westminster that we won't be able to make use of for too much longer. Parish Councils are tremendously important for keeping me informed about the issues that really matter to local people. Democracy begins with local decision making and with the dedicated service which councillors freely give to their own communities. I will continue to be a strong voice for all of those communities in Westminster."
Parish Councillors attended on behalf of Colne Engaine, Great Notley, Halstead Town, Rayne, Sturmer, Earls Colne, Helions Bumpstead, Castle Hedingham, Greenstead Green & Halstead Road, Ashen, Bardfield Saling, Foxearth & Listen, Pentlow and Stisted.
