Today, Brooks Newmark met with the Braintree Pensioners Action Group at Westminster to discuss their current concerns about the state pension.Today, Brooks Newmark met with the Braintree Pensioners Action Group at Westminster to discuss their current concerns about the state pension.

The pensioners were at Westminster as part of a national joint lobby of Parliament. They were led by Phyllis Webb, Chairman of the Braintree Pensioners Action Group, and along with their comments about the state pension the pensioners also raised concerns about fuel bills this winter.

Brooks says, "It's always a pleasure meeting constituents at Westminster, particularly the pensioners group. I was very interested to hear their views on the state pension and, with one in four pensioners still living below the poverty line, this is clearly an issue that we must work hard to address."
