Brooks Newmark MP cooks breakfast for the homeless on Christmas Day
“It was a pleasure to come in on Christmas morning, to help cook and serve breakfast at The Salvation Army's New Direction Lifehouse in Braintree. I managed to cook eggs, sausages, bacon, tomatoes and mushrooms without burning anything, so I hope that's a good start to their Christmas Day.
“I would like to thank The Salvation Army and the staff at New Direction for all the work they do on behalf of homeless people and the residents of the Lifehouse. The great thing about New Direction is that it provides far more than residential accomodation; it provides both support, and, hopefully, a new direction for residents as they move on to independent living. I'd like to wish everyone at New Direction a Merry Christmas.”
