Barnado's motto, 'with children, for children' sums up the charity's children-centred ethos. Barnado's strives for the lives of all children and young people to be free from poverty, abuse and discrimination.
Brooks joined in the 'Make a Difference Day' at the Braintree Barnado's shop to learn more about the work done here and to meet volunteers and staff who serve the local community. All of the profits from such local stores go towards helping the most vulnerable children and young people transform their lives and fulfil their potential.
Brooks said 'I am very impressed by the dedication and hard work of the staff here at Barnado's, whose work makes a real difference to the lives of so many children. Barnado's are always looking for more volunteers or donations, and I would urge everyone to get involved in this most worthy of causes. Make a Difference Day is an excellent encouragement for us all to get involved with charitable activities in the local community.'
