Last November, Brooks supported the Association in their bid to win funding from the Big Lottery Fund to refurbish their community pool. Thanks to a £50,000 lottery grant, work began in January this year to makeover Black Notley's heated outdoor pool and changing rooms.
The pool now has a non-slip surface and an automatic safety cover, along with new showers, new flooring and a changing cubicle.
Brooks said, "I am delighted to open the refurbished Association pool today in Black Notley. This was an important project for the local community, which thoroughly deserved the funding it received and I am particularly impressed that the pool is open so quickly and now ready for use this summer. I know the community really rallied behind this project and I hope they will enjoy the pool for many years to come.
