Fight for our Hospital

Fight for our hospitalI will continue to fight for our community hospital. | click here for more.

Stop Stansted Expansion

Stop Stansted ExpansionI will continue to oppose the expansion of Stansted, which I believe will not only be damaging to the local environment but also will cause greater noise pollution for residents in the villages north of Braintree.

Better Rail Links

Better Rail LinksI will continue to work with the Kelvedon Rail Users Association to put pressure on One Great Eastern to reinstate the recent services cuts between Kelvedon and London. I will actively promote an expansion of services to and from Braintree.

No to the A120 Southern Route

No to A120 Southern RouteAlthough I support the need to upgrade the A120 between Braintree and Marks Tey, like many local residents, I oppose the Government's current proposal. All our villages need to work together to identify an alternative route that will cause less harm to the countryside and people's homes alike.

St. Agnes' Playgroup

I am delighted by the news that St. Agnes’ Day Nursery has succeeded in finding a new site at the Braintree and Bocking Recreation Ground.

Many local residents will have been aware of the plan to close St. Agnes’ nursery next year when the building which houses it is sold. But the nursery, which has been popular for 40 years, is currently seeking planning permission at the new site and I am optimistic about a successful outcome.

We should all acknowledge the hard work of all those who have been involved in the continuation of nursery provision by St. Agnes’ – parents, teachers, Governors and Braintree District Council.

Helen Crysell, Campaign Chairperson is leading the effort to raise nearly £40,000 desperately needed for new fencing and play surfaces. Anyone interested in making a donation can contact her at helen@crysell.freeserve.co.uk.
