Brooks Newmark on BBC: “You Can Be Patriotic and Be Supportive of Ukraine”

Brooks Newmark has continued to speak out in support of Ukraine and its people, drawing on his direct experience of the war and his humanitarian work in the country. In response to Reform Party’s removal of the Ukrainian flag from Essex County Council’s HQ, Newmark emphasised that supporting Ukraine and being proud of Britain are not competing positions. His perspective is particularly significant because he has experienced the consequences of the war first-hand through his humanitarian work, giving him a direct understanding of why continued international support for Ukraine remains so important.
