Ukraine

In the wake of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Brooks has been working unceasingly to support the Ukrainian people. From aiding Ukrainian refugees on the Polish-Ukrainian border, to evacuating women and children from the war frontline to safety, delivering life-saving humanitarian aid to the de-occupied areas of Ukraine and expanding his work into the defence start-up sector.

Brooks is a champion of Ukraine’s cause. In his parliamentary career, Brooks was a staunch advocate of the Ukrainian democracy and right to self-determination, calling for the British government and global community to hold Russia’s accountable for its grave violations of Ukraine’s territorial integrity. For the last 10 years, Brooks used his experience to give lectures on international politics and leadership at universities across Ukraine. Confronted by Russia’s brutal full-scale invasion, Brooks set up his charity Angels for Ukraine to carry out a substantial humanitarian effort, evacuating over 35, 000 women and children from the frontline to safety, as well as moving more than 12, 000 injured civilians and soldiers to hospitals around Ukraine and EU. Having established humanitarian hubs in most of regions along the war frontline and in Kyiv, Brooks went on to start Trypillian, a start-up to support Ukraine’s defence and future peace prospects.

Defence Sector

In 2024 Brooks co-founded Trypillian, a major defence start-up to develop combat-proven technologies. That includes deep-strike systems, battlefield communication tools, and autonomous solutions aimed at reducing soldier risk and increasing front-line effectiveness.

Trypillian unites the Ukrainian innovation, UK investor expertise and Western finance to build autonomous, combat-ready systems to meet the realities of modern conflict, focusing on developing deep-strike capabilities, battlefield communications platforms, and frontline payload carriers. Trypillian’s vision is to be combat-tested and combat-ready to ultimately reduce human risks.

On the outset of the Russian full-scale invasion, Brooks Newark moved to the Polish-Ukrainian border to assist and support millions of fleeing Ukrainians, organising buses to places across Europe. As the war progressed, Brooks moved into Southeastern Ukraine to set up his charity Angels for Ukraine to help the civilians population in the war frontline regions.

After having established humanitarian hubs all over Ukraine, Brooks and his team from Angels for Ukraine have to this day evacuated more than 35, 000 of women and children, moved over 12, 000 injured civilians and soldiers to hospitals in Ukraine and around Europe. In addition to that, Angels for Ukraine have provided a large amount of essential humanitarian aid in the de-occupied areas of the country. As Ukraine is approaching the fourth year of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Angels for Ukraine have expanded their work into such areas as re-habilitation, support of emergency workers and providing access to drinking water.
